 Eddie Barclay who was at the top of the media at the time, imposed Vince Taylor and the Playboys in one of the first International rock and roll festivals. August 15th 1961 at 'Le Vieux Colombier' Juan les Pins. Le Vieux Colombier was a tiny club where the upper crust got in, but the kids, Vince's public, stayed outside not very happy about the situation . Vince showed a straight success. He's the idol of all show business. Everyone wants to see him, wants to be his friend wants to be there.…

The band travel across the whole of Europe, but soon drag French and Belgian supporters wearing their black leather jackets, iddising Vince.

Vince's concerts start to take a bad turn, the youngsters wanted to move around and dance. Chairs get in their way, and anything goes for reasons to break things.Group of kids already street rivals use concerts as an excuse to fight. The concert's producers got worried and Vince soon became banned in certain French towns.

Between September 61 and January 62, Barclay brought out on the french market 5 E.P.(45) and an LP 25 cm of Vince Taylor and the Playboys, come 20 titles. Vince goes to all the top parties in Paris. Everyone wants him to play at their place, in their own living-room. The black demon of rock (as he was often called). The media turn a deaf ear. Vince never gets more than few television shows and as for radio programms, its even worse. Luckily for us rock fans they were Scopitones, a marvellous invention, a big machine found in most big cafés, where not only you could listen to Vince and the Play-boys but also you could see them on the small videos on 8mm film, filmed by Mme Davis-Boyer Productions.

Riots broke out in province and in Paris, at the bal Tabarin and especially the Palais des Sports, pretty nicely wrecked on November 18th before Vince even got on stage. The consecration of the new star took place at the end of the year. Vince Taylor and the Playboys are top of the bill at the Olympia for the end of the year between December 27th and January 15th 62.
